The Crazy She-Witch Strikes Again!

I am literally counting down the days until Sean & I are out of this apartment, and away from this lunatic.

I'm thinking I'm going to ride a book after I'm done with this train-wreck of an experience, but I honestly don't think people with believe half the things these people do because it's just THAT STUPID! It was all fine-and-dandy until she decided she was going to attempt to set up my boyfriend with this fugly coworker of hers. I think there's another blog about that story from a couple months ago, you should go find it 'cause it's a  real knee-slapper ;)

Apparently, last night she decided to go on a bitch fest about ME not taking a shower before work, 'cause that caused the bathroom to be too cold for her to go into that night to take a shower...? If you need to reread that sentence a few times to soak in the patheticness, then take your time.

So the boyfriend, who deserves so much better, went and decided to blast the furnace to warm up the bathroom for her :) how sweet, right?... or not. Dumb fuck didn't realize that this was the very first time we've turned on the heater SINCE WE'VE LIVED HERE... thus, the apartment smelled horrible. Then, once she was out of the shower, they turned the heater back off.... even I have a hard time comprehending how these people think.

They think we don't hear them, but when the bathroom door is literally five inches from our bedroom door, and they're standing in the doorway having all these conversations WE HEAR YOU ;)

Be prepared for many more stories about the she-witch and her flying monkey :)

And in case anyone was like "ew, he doesn't take showers before work.." I had already taken one earlier to go see Ms. Weary, so your argument is invalid.

Hey Arnold on DVD!

Just now getting around to reviewing ShoutFactory!'s DVD of Hey Arnold: Season 2, Part 2 that just came out this part July... cause I'm just really getting tired of reviewing crap DVDs like this.

Do companies not realize that fans want the episodes of shows released IN THE ORDER THAT THEY ORIGINALLY AIRED??? If they do, then they're just assholes. Because this is my second review in a week, where a company has screwed up the episode order.

The problem: we have the episodes "Part-Time Friends" and "Biosquare" that originally aired as the 16th episode of season 3, on the season 2 DVD of the series. Seeing as how it was produced as the 19th episodes of the series overall, it would have made sense to maybe include it in the season 1 DVD, but that didn't even happen. So some moron over at ShoutFactory! made the stupid call to just randomly stick it on the season 2, part 2 DVD.

This is the third DVD release for the show, you'd think they'd have stuff like this organized by now. I'm losing my faith in ShoutFactory!

CBS's Newest Comedy: Partners.

It seems that once a year, CBS tries out at least one new comedy show that is ultimately doomed to fail from the beginning. This year, it's Partners. This show is nice, but it's not great, and would definitely be my last pick if I had to choose between almost any other comedy on television right now.

To sum it up: four people, three "partners". Joe and Louis are best friends since childhood. Joe is engaged to Ali. Louis is dating Wyatt. There's a gay joke ever two sentences. The end.

I love that CBS is adding more gay to their programs, but how the two gays are portrayed in this are absolutely outrageous. One is overly flamboyant and someone who I'd want to punch in the face if I met them in real life, the other is played by hunky-Superman himself, and is a soulless blob of nothing.

When I saw that Brandon Routh was going to be on this, I got so excited, it was ridiculous. Any show with some Superman flavor has my attention ;) But this is Brandon Routh at a low point for me. His acting is just terrible.

Then the other three were just rounded up randomly, thown into a mix, with the hope that they'd work out together. This cast is horrible. I think David Krumhotlz and Michael Urie work okay together, but I don't like either of them really. And Sophia Bush? I guess she had nothing better to do after the finale of One Tree Hill.

My prediction: this show will be cancelled before the end of the year. I will probably be watching to the end, in hopes that they fire the writers and create something better.

Earth's Mightiest Heroes.. DVD Disappointment!

As I said last week, I got Volume 5 of The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes Tuesday. And I am BEYOND disappointed with this release.

The episodes on the DVDs are not in the order they were aired, they are in the order they were produced. So if you watch them in the order they're in on the DVD, you're going to skip around a lot and be extremely confused. At one point, the "last time on the Avengers" segment actually SPOILED some major points for us before we realized that the episodes were out of order.

When studios release shows like this, it only tells me one thing: they don't give a shit about the show. They don't care about the fans, they're just putting some mess down on a DVD and calling it a day in an attempt to earn some money.

I was very happy that the season starts off with a cameo from the Fantastic Four. That was a nice surprise! Then we got a cameo from the Guardians of the Galaxy later on, another happy surprise.

But the jumbled up episodes completely ruined this release for me, especially since I can't even watch the episode "Behold... The Vision!" yet, as it's episode 14 of the season, but on the DVD they have it as episode 9. I'm putting a hold on watching it until Volume 6 comes out to finish the rest of the season, so I can watch the episodes in order.

Revolution

The series premiere of NBC's Revolution was last Monday, with episode two airing TONIGHT! (So you still have time to catch up!) Sean and I just got around to watching the premiere last night, and it was pretty good. Not great, just good. Most of the actors are just scum. They give the lead male role to a piss poor Twilight actor, and then they give the lead female role to a nobody.

The only acting choice I was happy with was of the woman who helped Danny at the end. And even then, I couldn't put my finger on where I'd seen her before. But after a quick trip to Google, she is Maria Howell, another nobody, but the woman who was cast to play Seeder in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire!! That made me happy! =) Really happy I'm going to get to see her act some before I see her in Catching Fire!

Then the only other two acting choices I was okay with were of the Captain (the magic mirror in Once Upon A Time) and the "dead" mother (Erica Evans in the 2009 remake of V).

The story-line for the show is nice. Post-apocalyptic stories seem to be the big rage nowadays, so NBC might as well get in their shot at it while they can. I HATE HATE HATE it when films/shows do the "so-many years later" aspect at the VERY beginning. That just overloads the rest of the show with ridiculous amounts of flashbacks, which is probably what is to come for the rest of the season.

The acting is pretty bland, and there's not enough mystery surrounding the mystery. I don't see this show getting a second season. This doesn't nearly compare to Eric Kripke's last television creation: Supernatural. However, the boyfriend said he'd stick around for episode two at least, and he hates watching TV.. so that's one point for Revolution.

The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes Review

Last week (it might have been the week before, I just happened to notice last week), Walmart released Volumes 1-4 of The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes on DVD. And for ten bucks each, I couldn't pass on them =)

In just a couple days, I have concluded watching all twenty-six season one episodes. I thought all the heroes were portrayed perfectly. Especially how stealthy they made the Black Panther out to be, most of the time I forgot he was there, and when he did appear it was a "whoa" moment. Haha! Only problem I had was how BORING The Wasp was. The only time she seemed really bad-ass, was when she took her gigantic form.. which was once. Most of the time she seemed really petty, and was just a damsel in distress. She should not have had as much screen time as she did.

What made me the happiest, was that Iron Man wasn't made out to be the most important character in the show, which is what happened with the live action Avengers film. I'm probably the only person who will admit to this, but I hate Iron Man. I find his character annoying, in both live-action and animation.

The cameos by the Fantastic Four made me really wish they'd get a new animated series! Seriously, somebody make this happen.

What's great about me finishing all of season one today.. is that the first thirteen episodes of season 2 come out in a Volume 5 DVD set tomorrow (as does the live-action movie!)! I'll get that after work tomorrow, and let ya'll know what I think.

You all should watch this show. It's awesome.

Aaahhh!!! Real Monsters!!

After almost a decade and a half of being off the air, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters finally comes to DVD thanks to Shout! Factory. I've made it a goal of mine to get all the DVD releases of the old Nickelodeon shows Shout! releases on DVD, and I was doing very well. Until all of a sudden, the stores in my area, Walmart, Target, even Best Buy, stopped selling these releases, old and new. I have no clue what happened there, but it made it very difficult to get the DVDs, as I wished to get them on the day they were released. Most recently, Walmart isn't even selling newer releases online. I don't know how Shout! is expecting to make money off these with such limited releases.

Today I ordered the newest releases of The Angry Beavers, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, Danny Phantom, and Hey Arnold all online.

Also finished season 2 of Real Monsters today. It has become one of my favorite older cartoons, and I had never even heard of the show before Shout! started releasing it on DVD last October. The only thing I really don't like about these releases, is that there are no special features! >:(

For those who don't know, it's a pretty dark show, like Invader Zim, that centers around a trio of monsters that are in school for the art of scaring humans. The show takes events and obstacles that happen in our every day lives, and twists them to what they might be like if monsters truly did exist. This is a show I'd recommend to any cartoon lover like myself! :)

Resident Evil: Retribution

Want to know a little secret? I hadn't seen a single Resident Evil film before last weekend. And with Retribution being the FIFTH film in the franchise, I had to catch up pretty quickly.

With my boyfriend wanting to see Retribution for his birthday, I wasn't going to go see it without seeing the other films. I'd have been hella confused. So I made it my ultimate goal last week to watch all the films! Sad thing was, I have owned the first three for about four months now, just hadn't got around to watching them yet.

But with how addicting these movies are, it was pretty easy for me to get caught up. I watched the first three in one sitting.. I quickly fell in love with Alice and all her badassness (don't think that's a word, but oh well.)

*A few minor spoilers below. You've been warned.*

And we went to see Resident Evil: Retribution as planned yesterday :) I thought it was a lot better than Afterlife, but it lacked. I don't know what exactly it lacked, I was just very unfulfilled when the credits rolled at the end. I felt the only point of this film was to set up for the supposed sixth and final film to be released after this one. Good thing about this film: it made me jump. You could tell with the first four films that there were parts in there that were to scare the audience and make them jump out of their seats, but that never happened for me :P In this film, I jumped many a times. It was nice ;)

I LOVED that they brought a bunch of characters from the old films back, even after they already met their demise. Like my favorite character from the first film: Michelle Rodriguez as Rain :)

I'd say wait for this film on DVD. As you'll probably want/need to rewatch it when the sixth film comes out.

ADVENTURE TIME!

Cartoon Network FINALLY released Adventure Time as a season release. Before they were only releasing chopped up DVDs filled with random episodes (and I don't ever buy shows like that). I had only ever watched two episodes of Adventure Time before this release, but with there being so much hype about the show, I definitely was interested. And SO HAPPY I bought it! This show is so addicting, and so random.. it's amazing.

It contains the first 26 episodes of the show, being the entire first season. Cartoon Network is, yet again, releasing another chopped up DVD in a couple weeks. They need to stop this and just keep releasing the next complete season sets. They aren't much more expensive at all, so I don't see what the big deal is. GET ON IT!

Coming Out Your Mouth With Your Blah, Blah, Blah

It's been three long months since we last talked. So I have much much news for you.

1) The new apartment is going well. It started off shitty, as we were feuding with the other roommates, 'cause she's a raging lunatic who tried to hook my boyfriend up with another guy. (Yeah, that shit don't fly.) But we've kinda got things sorted out, it's still a little awkward, but that's expected.

2) I GOT PROMOTED >:) New position, higher pay. Yeah, life is good. A week or two ago I put in a request for me to switch shifts (I'm not liking how much time Sean and I spend apart with me being on nights. Also, I hate nights.) So we'll see how long 'til that happens.. I might have to switch stores for that to happen, but we'll see.

3) Texas Trip #2 is a Go-Go on Aug. 30 :)

4) I've decided to post-pone school, YET AGAIN, until January. But this time I actually have everything I need to go request to be switched to in-district, thus saving tons of $$$$

So there ya have it =) I'm gonna try to get back into the swing of things, and blog more often, or AT LEAST once a week, but we'll see how that goes. I promise to try. I do. TTFN

May May May Ma-aayy!

eh, so it's May. One of the least exciting months, in my book. Unless you're a senior in high school who's currently experiencing prom, graduation, and the transition into adult-hood all at once. But beeen thereee done that!

Only think really worth discussing over a cup of tea, is we've finally decided where's we're moving when our lease is up at the end of the month. It's only about four miles from here, and I'm gonna go from paying $115 a month in rent, to about $172 a month, which really sucks.. but what can ya do?

I also have to get my address on my license changed so I can get in-district for college. And I can't do that for about a week and a half >.> But hopefully everything falls through with that, and I can get summer classes all paid for, and OFFICIALLY be a college freshman =)

And I might be going to see The Avengers tomorrow..? But yeah, that's about it.

Someone should cure Cancer or something, so that May 2012 can be more exciting.. #justsaying

Survey Says... Danny Phantom!

Danny Phantom is one of my absolute favorite shows from Nickelodeon! And when Shout Factory! announced last year that they had got the rights to it (along with many other old Nick shows), I was so excited about getting them on DVD!

Season 2, Part 1 was released April 3, 2012, so OF COURSE I went out and bought it (I did the same for Season 1) :3 But I feel like ShoutFactory! didn't really give a shit about this release. The artwork is cool and all, but the actual content on the discs are all screwed up.

The inside artwork of the DVD set lists the first ten episodes as being:

  1. Memory Bank
  2. Doctor's Orders
  3. Pirate Radio
  4. Reign Storm, Part 1
  5. Reign Storm, Part 2
  6. Identity Crisis
  7. Fenton Menace
  8. The Ultimate Enemy, Part 1
  9. The Ultimate Enemy, Part 2
  10. The Fright Before Christmas
The list on the artwork is 100% correct, as that's the order the episodes were originally released by Nickelodeon while they were on air. HOWEVER (and this is what really saddens me), while watching the DVD, I noticed the episodes are ordered all out-of-whack, some are missing, and some are on the set that shouldn't be there. The DVD episodes go in the order of:

  1. Reign Storm, Part 1
  2. Reign Storm, Part 2
  3. Doctor's Orders
  4. Identity Crisis
  5. Fenton Menace
  6. Pirate Radio
  7. The Fright Before Christmas
  8. Micro-Management (should be in part 2)
  9. Masters of All Time (should be in part 2)
  10. Beauty Marked (should be in part 2)
So yeah, way to show no respect for the fans of a show. It looks like they just slapped together a bunch of episodes that just HAPPENED to be in Season 2 of the show, called them part 1, and hoped no one would notice. And so, obviously part 2 (whenever it's released), will be just as jumbled of a mess to finish up the season. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that Season 3 isn't as out of order as this was.

**UPDATE**
ShoutFactory! commented on a Facebook post I left them about this issue, and they stated that the episodes on the DVD are in the order that they intended, but there was a misprint with the DVD artwork. They informed me to email them about getting the correct DVD wrap, so I'm doing just that! >.>

Life: Updated!.. Again!

I havn't been on since January (So to the two people that might read this: I'm sorry.) I just wanted to say heyyyy :) And say that I'm going to try and be on more like in the beginning :)

Will just say that I've been put up to full time at work, Sean and I just celebrated our one year three days ago :3 we're moving at the end of May to a new apartment (maybe in the same apartment complex, but hopefully not), and I'm (fingers crossed) starting Parkland in June =)

I THOUGHT that I only had to get a letter from work saying that I've worked 35+ hours per week in the past 30 days to be listed as in-district (thus, saving me $1200), HOWEVER >.< I found out that I have to do that PLUS get a notarized letter from my mom saying she no longer claims me as a dependent, a letter from my roommates saying I've lived here since January, and a voter registration card and my driver's license listed as me living in this area >.> fml. I got the work letter, and yesterday got the letter from my mom and the roommates.. now for the DL and VR part :o ugh

So that's all folks ;)

Life: Updated.

So, news in the world of Tyler. (If you've befriended me on Twitter, Facebook, or Formspring, you might already know a lot of this.)..

I GOT A JOB AT WALMART! :] Orientation was the 10th, did computer work the 12th, and had my first official shift last night! Have today off and then I go back Tuesday.. o.O Training for these next two weeks, then I don't know.

I was supposed to have a second job at Steak 'n Shake, but today I got a phone call saying that they no longer needed me since I couldn't work night shift for them =/ which is total BS! Now I'm looking for a possible second job.. which I might already have lined up :D I got a call from Za's today about my application.. so I have to call them back tomorrow ^_^

My biggest problem with these jobs: I have no car. Well.. I have one. It just doesn't have a tire on, and there's some issues under the hood >.> My mom "stole" my tire about 2 or 3 months ago, and I'm just now needing the use of my car, and when we got to put the tire back on, the lugnuts are missing!?!?!?! So, we have to do something about that >___<

Lastly, I will be moving the first of February to Champaign (about 40 minutes from where I live now), to apartments with Sean's cousin, her boyfriend, and two other people. Should be interesting.. o.O I've found that I don't have enough boxes for our stuff ^~^ ugh oh..

So, that's about it :] Hopefully things keep going good(ish) for me =)

The New Year!

We are six days into 2012. And I have neglected to wish the Blogger world a Happy New Year... sooo... HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! =)

The biggest thing I'm trying to do right now is get a job! I had two interviews Tuesday, Jan 3rd at Walmart and Cracker Barrel. I got a job offer at Walmart, had a drug test yesterday, and now I'm just waiting for a phone call about orientation. I think my Cracker Barrel interview went great, and I'm supposed to hear back from them sometime next week. Then I have an interview at the Steak 'n Shake where my brother works. I'd rather work at the Steak 'n Shake, than the Cracker Barrel, but whatever I get, I'll be happy.

Hopefully between two part time jobs, I'll get the type of money I need to pay for 1/4 of an apartment, pay for food, and save up for college in the fall.

Then I've set a New Year's Resolution to feel better about myself. I have this amazing life, and amazing boyfriend, and yet, I'm always feeling depressed and down in the dumps. I want that to change. Going to be doing more physical activities, hopefully eating a little better, and just try and get myself into a better psychological state!

Again, Happy New Year to all, and I wish you all the best in this New Year! <3

Black Panther!

This is a show that I had never heard of, but just came across randomly during one of my surfs of the web. It seemed interesting, so I got it. And it's actually pretty awesome. It's not your typical superhero show at all, though there are many cameos my Captain America and the X-Men. Storm especially plays a big part in the show. It was pretty awesome seeing some of my favorite characters mixed with brand new ones that I had never heard of before.

The show is about a man named T'Challa, who becomes the new Black Panther in the pilot. The Black Panther is the leader of the country of Wakanda, and protects all their land, people, and secrets in advancements. The show revolves around T'Challa's desire to get revenge on the man that killed his father. That man, Klaw, along with Batroc the Leaper, Juggernaut(a familiar face from X-Men: The Last Stand), the Vatican Black Knight, and the Russian Radioactive man, are aiming at taking over Wakanda for its technology and resources.

The ENTIRE SERIES is only six episodes long. If you want a quick show to watch, I definitely recommend this one! This animated series is the first motion comic show I've seen. I loved this different take on animation. The action in this is great, there's TONS of blood, and the story is rather great.

X-Men: Worst Class

When X-Men: First Class first came out this past June, I went straight to theaters to see it. I absolutely love any and all superhero movies, and I personally own all four previous X-Men movies AND the original animated series. So yeah, I went opening weekend to see it. And I thought it was the absolute worst X-Men movie of the franchise. And tonight, I watched it again, this time in the comfort of my own home, thinking maybe I missed something the first time around that everyone else apparently fell in love with. But nope.

I was very disappointed that the only original cast members in this were Rebecca Romijn and Hugh Jackman, and they only had ten second cameos, without those cameos, I would never had watched this movie a second time. And my favorite X-Men (Storm) didn't have the screen time she deserved.

My biggest question: Why did the James McAvoy-version of Professor X constantly have the need to touch his head when using his ability? I do not recall the Patrick Stewart-version of Professor X ever doing that.. and James McAvoy didn't do it just once in awhile, he did it ALL THE FREAKING TIME! =/ Why? It seemed like James McAvoy was waaaay overacting on his part.

With this film, James McAvoy has climbed the latter to becoming one of my least favorite actors. He's just horrible.

I do not see how this movie is having such good reviews. Hopefully the sequel to this will impress me more.. they won't have to do much to do that.

(Even the poster for the film is poorly made.. Photoshop at its worst!)
